A Note From Sarah
Life won’t get easier, but you can become wiser. At this point in my career, I do not sugarcoat and I love to work with clients who are curious and committed to themselves. The world is a dangerous, chaotic, and unfair place, but you do not have to mirror it. I believe in the phrase, “Do life so it doesn’t do you.”
As a therapist, I can be quite the lighthouse as much as I can be the guiding flame. I think therapy takes grit, and you must have some audacity to believe in yourself to get through it. My life has required me to pay attention, put in sincere and genuine effort, and upgrade my response to this world with each phase of life. I do not believe this expectation of living will change. Even if you are not ready to be this spunky, all you need to get started is a willingness to make the appointment. I can help you take care of you from there.
I am investigative and a little granular –I love the details, and no matter how “bad” you think it is, I’m certain we will have the guts to get you through post-traumatic growth. I love psychology education, assigning homework, and being a little heady about your therapeutic journey –but I am drive-able. We can work at your pace in a trauma-informed way that will yield results. I am comfortable with the uncomfortable, and I will use or refer to all the available resources needed.
If you have any questions, I offer a free 15-minute consultation. You can text my work cell: 815-557-1267 and I’ll respond to you on the next business day if not the same day. Take good care, Sarah
